You give your car a return time to pick you up from the meeting location. The car will not accept rides from third persons that will exceed that timeframe. Unless you give it permission for that one ride because it earns good money.  With the money you earn, you can buy/finance a second car that can earn money for you continuously, and you can build up a fleet of cars that can earn passive income for you.  In fact, that is just what Tesla intends to do; they will cease selling cars at a certain point in time and only lease them out. The brilliant Ray Kurzweil has made many predictions about technological developments. He bases his predictions on More's Law, which states that the number of transistors on a chip doubles every two years while halving the cost. By interpreting what that means for technological developments and their capabilities, Ray Kurzweil has made many eerily accurate predictions. Some say that his prediction success is in the neighborhood of 80%.  One of his predictions is that humans and technology will merge for the benefit of each other, thereby creating a new sort of human species. What happens after that he can't predict. Originally he said it would take place around 2045, but now he has revised it to 2035. Around that time it will be possible to upload parts of the human brain en download them into that of others.
