The rules for Social Media Branding and getting your products sold in 15 minutes per day

One of the best Social Media Branding strategies is the social patterning method:  ‘on becoming a Brand!’, which has proven itself extremely well in the past 5 years. It originated in the Netherlands (Europe) and enables small and large companies to brand themselves or their products in a fast way using the social media.

In order to do that you need to set-up a Social Media Pattern, which is an investment in time of about one working week. After that it only requires 15 minute a day monitoring time. There is a book called ‘On becoming a Brand!’ written by Benno Pieters and Antoinette Pernot which describes the whole method.

So what are the rules?

1)      Knowing what you want.
Your product or service offering needs to solve a common problem for a larger group of people, the so called niche. There has to be a vision behind the product which lasts at least 5 years. People love consistency. Next you need to have a mission; the road to achieving the vision which last at least 2 years. People love a plan or at least a sense that there is a plan. An easy way to do this is to work with 6 core words or phrases that capture the soul of your Brand and expand each word into 5 one-liners.

2)      Translate your vision and mission into action.
Next step is to create a list of at least 31 tweets or micro-bloggings of 140 characters. That is one for each day so that you can post at least once a day. Use images to enhance your one-liners and have them ready in a folder on your computer. Enhance them with hashtagged words which are your core words and include a link to a designated page on your website to capture leads. The list can be used for 4 months straight before you need to revise it. People love hearing one-liners more than once.

3)      Make a goldmine of your website.
Once Social Media Branding starts to work for you then you want the people to visit your website on a landing or capture page. By offering a free ebook or low cost activity you can capture their email address for later use. People love getting something for free or at a good discount. Make sure you have landing pages.

4)      Publish on the Social Media.
Most people start at this stage this instead of having a method or plan! The minimum you need to do in order to become a brand is be present on at least 3 social networks and to have a blog. On the social networks you post your one liners and once a month you can publish a blog which puts your expertise on display. People love learning things from the experts. You can use a tool like Hootsuite.com to pre-publish you postings spread in time and social networks. It creates the Social Media Pattern. If you have done the above then you only need 15 mintues a day to monitor your activities and results

5)      Convert your Brand into customers.
After 2 to 3 months your Brand will get attention and your Brand starts to establish itself. The best way to convert your Brand into customers is by using Newsflashes instead of Newsletters. Newsflashes grab attention faster and you can use it to get people to enrol for your activities or make use of a special offering. Another good conversion tool is by using small advertorials on the Social Media. Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter offer excellent possibilities to to multiple niche marketing. Make sure you provide an offer to your target group and they will buy from you.

If you want to become a brand the start by reading the book. It’s only €20 and will giveyou a life lasting insight in how to promote your company and its products and get them sold.
